■ 心理病患導演 --- 當我帶上耳機，這世界就和我沒有什麼關系了
原本是一名電影迷，有一天他突發奇想，想要拍一部叫《SUNDAY MORNING》的電影，一部關於網路部落格（blogger）的愛情電影，2046和2047就是他幻想出來的人物。但當他開始在網路上搬來了一個團隊而開始執行時卻一敗塗地，更因某些心理因素而得了憂鬱症。最後在和心理醫生咨詢的過程，在心理的考古層裡發掘了一個還活生生的創傷，原來所有的一切都和他的童年有關，和小時候的某個星期天早晨有關……
我無法完成自己（AM I A LOSER?） 於是他戴上耳機，開始變成台北街頭最尋常的一道風景。
A Sufferer from Mental Illness --- When I put on my headphones, the rest of the world doesn’t matter to me anymore.
He’s a fan of the movies. One day, he suddenly has an idea, and decides to make a movie called Sunday Morning about an Internet love affair between two imaginary bloggers called “2046” and “2047” But when he starts to go on the Internet to assemble a film crew and begin work on the movie itself, his plans fail utterly and his dream comes crashing to the ground. Due to these harsh blows to his ego, he comes down with depression. In the end, in the course of counseling sessions with his psychologist, in the deepest part of his soul he uncovers an old wound that has never healed. It all dates back to his childhood, to a certain Sunday morning when he was still very small….
I can’t fulfill my true potential (AM I A LOSER?). So he puts on his headphones, and becomes a regular sight on the streets of Taipei.
心理病患導演想像中的女主角，網路的代號為2046，職業為網路影評，崇尚某種張愛玪式的過氣時尚生活，台北知識女青年某種典型。她和2047存活在一個叫“我的房間”的網路世界裡，隔著一道虛擬的牆感應彼此，為了害怕搞砸一切而一直拒絕2047的見面邀約……2046 --- She kept thinking how the movie was almost finished, but she still wasn’t ready to face the outside world.
The main female character created by the young man who suffered from mental illness, she goes by her Internet screen name, “2046.” She makes a living as an online film critic, but her lifestyle has a kind of Eileen Chang-esque old time charm, and she’s a typical bright, young Taipei woman. She and “2047” live together in the online world of “Myspace,” separated by a virtual wall through which they communicate. She’s afraid she’ll spoil everything and ruin their relationship, so she always refuses to meet “2047” face to face….

心理病患導演想像中的男主角，網路代號為2047，職業是在舊貨市場上收集舊物然後在網路上拍賣，和2046是完全不同型態的人，卻因為網路而連結。因為他無法想像失去他，所以他一直有一種恐懼，他連她叫什麼名字都不知道，她長什麼樣子？住在什麼地方？手機號碼，如果因為這個城市發生了一場地震而遺失了她的帳號……2047 --- He began to want to break down this virtual wall, because he couldn’t bear to have to love her through it anymore.
The main male character created by the sufferer from mental illness, he goes by the Internet screen name, “2047.” He makes a living buying old things at flea-markets and then reselling them on the Internet. Although his lifestyle is totally different from 2046’s, they meet over the Internet. Because he can’t bear the thought of losing her, he always feels a certain dread. He doesn’t even know her real name. What does she really look like? And her cell phone number? What if an earthquake hit the city and she lost her Internet connection with him….

在現實世界中飾演2046，但本性上卻和2046大相徑庭。她讀法文系，讀西蒙波娃沒錯，但她同時也是一個肚皮舞娘，一個回教徒，一個女同性戀，一個快閃族……她的多樣性是最讓導演覺得汗顏的原因之一。Crystal （Ching）
She plays the part of 2046 in real life, though the two could hardly be more different. It’s true she studied French and read Simone de Beauvoir in college, but she’s also a belly dancer, a Muslim, a lesbian, a flash mobber….Her multi-talented nature is the main thing that puts the director to shame.

在現實世界中飾演2047，是一個劇場演員，在拍片現場常常支配導演，但在日常生活中卻非常依賴其女朋友。因為他的核是絕對“周星馳”式的，所以和深受王家衛影響的導演在意識形態上 存有巨大的分岐。Bei
He plays the part of 2047 in real life. He’s an actor who constantly overrules the director during filming, but in his normal life he’s totally dependent on his girlfriend. As an actor he’s as hard-core Stephen Chow as you can get, so when he works with a director so deeply influenced by Wong Kar-wai, there’s a huge ideological difference between them.

成長於台灣八十年代，是一名典型的鑰匙兒童，和爸媽，妹妹住在城市邊緣的一個代工廠區裡。當時經濟大好，但勞動階層並沒有從中受惠，只換來更多的工作時數。在某個平常的星期天早晨，這個注定不幸的家庭迎來了一場悲劇……The Movie Director’s Childhood
Growing up in Taiwan during the 80s, he was a typical latchkey child who lived with his parents and younger sister in a temporary housing district on the outskirts of the city. At the time the economy was in very good shape, but the working classes didn’t benefit from it at all; they just wound up working even longer hours than before. Then one Sunday morning, tragedy struck this ill-fated family….
